Just inside the door are some useful cupboard and floor space which is perfect to drop off those muddy boots after a day exploring the island s trails and there is also a small utility room with a washing machine. The open plan lounge/kitchen/diner is directly ahead of you. The kitchen here has everything you need including an electric oven and induction hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. The dining table by the kitchen provides ample seating for all to sit together for some breakfast or even a nice evening meal together. Situated directly beside this area is the cosy lounge which really does speak for itself. There is a wood burner (first basket of logs provided) for cooler evenings, comfortable sofas and a Smart TV to enjoy your favourite films after a busy day exploring. On that sunnier day, open the bifold doors and let the sunshine and fresh air through. Making your way back down the hallway will bring you to the two bedrooms, one being a king size bedroom complete with an en suite shower room with a shower and WC, and the other with a set of twin single beds. Both rooms provide large wardrobe spaces. Completing the interior is the bathroom, containing a bath, separate shower and WC. Making your way outside the property via the bi fold doors or pathway at the front of the property will bring you to your spacious enclosed outdoor space. Lyon Court is a beautiful country house in a lovely countryside setting, tastefully converted into individual apartments. It overlooks Shanklin Down, yet is close to bus & train routes, and only 10 minutes walk to the town centre or Shanklin Old Village. The beach is a further 5 minutes walk.

The Old Stable is (as the name suggests) a stable converted into a studio apartment. Set in the secluded gardens of Lyon Court, it benefits from its own discrete south facing patio. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full sized oven and hob, a vintage Bosch fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, with ample cupboard space, pots, pans, utensils, crockery and cutlery.

The living area is well designed for either a couple, a couple with a child, or a parent with two children, There is a comfy day bed that is dressed as a sofa for couples, or otherwise made up as a single bed. There is also a comfy double bed and a dining table for 3.

A 28" Smart TV is installed that is connected to our satellite system which is Netflix/Amazon ready.

There is a fan heater should it get a bit chilly in the Autumn evenings.

A wireless access point has also been installed, giving a fast wifi connection throughout the whole apartment and on the terrace.

A cot can also be accommodated, but the maximum occupancy must not exceed 3.

You will have access to all of the facilities at Lyon Court including a large, heated outdoor pool (open from the late May bank holiday weekend to the last week of September), a large terrace with electric BBQ, available May to September, on site launderette and extensive landscaped gardens.

We aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Beds are made up before your arrival, and we provide a welcome tray and under-sink items.

This warm and cosy brick built chalet in Sandown has two bedrooms consisting of a double and a bunk bed room (plus sofa bed) that sleeps up to six people.

Master double bedroom, second bedroom with bunk beds, and a fold out sofa-bed in the living room.  A hair dryer, iron, ironing board & clothes airer are also supplied. There’s a fully equipped galley kitchen with kettle, microwave, toaster, electric oven and hob & fridge freezer. The bathroom has a bath with electric shower.  The open-plan living room has a SMART TV with Freeview, Bluetooth soundbar system and a folding table and 6 chairs.  

Bed linen, pillows and quilts are provided for the double bed and the bunk beds. Extra linen for the sofa bed will be supplied for bookings of 5 or 6 people. Bath towels and t-towels are provided, but you will need to bring your own beach towels if required.

Sandown Bay Holiday Centre is on the clifftops at Yaverland, overlooking Sandown Bay. The dog-friendly sandy beach is only a few minutes walk from our chalet and stretches for over 6 miles from Culver Down, through Yaverland and Sandown, to Shanklin and Luccombe to the south.
The coastal path along the cliff-tops takes you to the top of Culver Down, with magnificent views, and the dog-friendly Culver Haven Inn. The Isle of Wight Zoo and Dinosaur Isle dinosaur museum are a short walk from our chalet. Sandown town centre and pier are a short drive from our chalet, or a 20 minute walk from our chalet with lots of seaside shops and ice cream parlours.
The easiest way to see the island is by car. Free private parking is included on-site. If you don't have a car, the No.8 bus stops right outside Sandown Bay Holiday Centre and takes you to Bembridge, St Helens and Ryde, or the other way to Sandown, Shanklin and Newport. The Island Breezer bus can take you to Ventnor, the Needles and Alum Bay and to Yarmouth.

When is the best time to visit your property for the perfect beach holiday?
Our chalet is open from March to January every year and the beach is accessible all year round. Sandown Bay has 6 miles of sandy beach so plenty of space for everyone. There are plenty of things to do whatever the weather. You can collect fossils on the beach, even in wet weather. The beach is also dog friendly all year round!
