Dogs are charged £8.00 per night per dog. We provide bowls for your dog during your stay, and also some treats. Offering two unique year-round luxury log cabins, constructed using massive 500mm diameter Scottish Douglas Fir posts with huge beams and ridges in excess of 650mm, all going to ensure your stay with us will really take your breath away. Built by Calendonia Log Homes, we are sure you will love the old style craftsmanship and care that has gone in to creating them as much as we do.

Although large in construction, each cabin is tastefully designed and decorated to place everything perfectly to scale, and your visit will be one that you will remember.

The log cabins are located on a working farm that specialises in suckled beef cattle and sheep, which you will see whilst out and about!, and the farm itself has been in the family for over a century!

The farm was a primarily dairy till 1996, when it was decided that to go into beef cattle and sheep, and currently we hold 100 beef breeding cattle and 100 sheep.

We have over 250 acres of woodlands and fields, and there are many recognised walks and hikes in the area.

Some of the farm buildings like the milking parlour have now been developed into houses that the family still own and live in.

We have a strict no pet policy.

This cabin is located in Harrogate. Fountains Abbey and Washburn Heritage Centre are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Log Heights and Himalayan Garden & Sculpture Park. Parcevall Hall Gardens and Lightwater Valley Theme Park are also worth visiting.

Fully equipped, the kitchen has an oven, hob, refrigerator, toaster and microwave so you’ll have everything you could need to prepare meals. There is a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer for your use too. Also sharing this space is the dining area which includes a dining area for 4 guests.

BEDROOM
The lodge has two bedrooms. Featuring an en suite shower room and a comfortable double bed, the master bedroom is ideal for couples. Head to the second room and you’ll find a twin.

The master bathroom features a bath with an overhead shower, WC and basin.

Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

Guests have access to the full lodge. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

The Neighborhood:
Norman Lodge is located in the picturesque village of Felton in Northumberland. Felton, and the neighbouring village of West Thirston, date back to the 1200s so both areas are steeped in history. You’ll find an abundance of beautiful countryside surrounding the villages making it perfect for walks and photography. If you’re interested in fishing, the River Coquet runs along the village and parts are considered a fishery of National importance. If you’d prefer to shop and enjoy a quiet pint, you’ll find shops and a local inn so you’ll have plenty to explore during your stay.

Felton is located in the historic market town of Morpeth. Exploring the cobbled streets, you’ll discover independent shops, cosy pubs and High Street favourites. If you’re looking for a full shopping experience, head to Sanderson Arcade and you’ll find an array of stores as well as cafes, beauty bars and markets. When you want to get your hands on the best local produce, Morpeth’s popular Farmers Market takes place every first Saturday of the month in the marketplace.

Getting Around:
Access to the village of Felton is easy as it’s just one mile from the A1. Popular Northumberland towns and villages such as Alnmouth, Alnwick and Amble are a short 20 minute drive from Felton.

Morpeth train station is a 25-minute drive from the house with routes to Edinburgh, Newcastle and Carlisle.

Felton is also on one of the main bus routes with frequent Arriva bus routes to Alnwick, Berwick-upon-Tweed and Newcastle so you can travel around easily via bus.

The Space:
Spread out across a ground floor, The Cabin In The Woods is a glamour spot designed to give you peace and tranquillity. At the very front of The Cabin is its heart, the combined living and kitchen area. Here you will find the perfect space in which to relax yourself. With the living room equipped with a two seater sofa and a three seater corner sofa that are both pleasingly decked out with plush cushions, this gives you the wondrous chance to spread out and take in the wall-mounted flatscreen, equipped with Netflix that you are more than welcome to sign into and peruse at your leisure.

The Kitchen is a fresh and modern space, dominated by the centre island which can be the perfect dining space for a quick meal for two. You will also find it fully stocked with all appliances and amenities which you might require. An electric hob, oven, kettle, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, cutlery and dinnerware are all on offer for you to use throughout the duration of your stay. On top of this you may also make use of the ample dining table with room for six people so you can eat in style and gaze out onto the Cabin’s balcony and wonders that this country retreat offers.

There are also three bedrooms on offer, all of which are made up with the plushest bed linens and comfiest sheets and pillows; and their own TVs, with Netflix that you are more than able to sign-in to your own accounts on. The first bedroom contains a king-sized bed and has plenty of storage space on offer for you, as well as an ensuite equipped with a standing shower, WC and wash basin. The second room offers a double bed and can comfortably accommodate up to two guests, with a wardrobe that brings ample storage. Finally, the third bedroom brings with it twin beds and offers plenty of comfort, with its own wardrobe for storage for all your bits and bobs.

The family bathroom comes with a bath and shower, as well as a wash basin and WC, with two heated towel rails for your convenience.

Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are at the reception of the Ladycross Plantation Caravan & Lodge Park.

There is private parking available to the side of the lodge for up to 2 vehicles. Any additional cars can be parked in the site car park.

Please note that hen & stag parties are strictly prohibited at The Cabin In The Woods. If any such parties are found to be staying at the property they will be removed.

The Neighborhood:
If you’re looking for a relaxing break, you’ll get the best of both worlds when staying at Egton. This quaint village is perfect for walks and picnics. Head to Egton Bridge, Arncliffe Woods or the river where you can head over small stepping stones to the wooded island. If you’re looking to eat out or enjoy a quiet drink, there are two public houses in Egton - the Wheatsheaf and the Horseshoe.

Egton is located just six miles from the seaside town of Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast. Popular for its Blue Flag West Cliff beach and promenade, the whole family can enjoy a day on the golden sands. Head to Pier Road, you’ll find fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants where you can sample the catch of the day.

The other side of Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques and pubs. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.

Getting Around:
Egton has great rail and bus links to Whitby. Northern Rail operates a train to Whitby five times per day which is a short 22 minute journey. Whitby train station is in the centre of Whitby so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail from here too.

Alternatively, you can hop on the Arriva North East bus service from Egton which travels three times a day.

By car the journey from Egton to Whitby takes approximately 12 minutes along the A171.
