Situated in extensive grounds in a peaceful woodland setting by a babbling burn, a short walk from the shore of beautiful Loch Awe. The site is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with breath taking scenery, endless walks and abundant wildlife.

The accommodation consists of open plan Lounge, dining area and kitchen, double bedroom, bunk room, sleeping loft and family shower room.

The lounge / dining area has a high vaulted ceiling, Satellite TV, DVD, Hi Fi (via TV and DVD), double sofa, easy chairs, dining table for eight and a lovely wood burning stove. The front elevation is mainly glazed, to maximize the view of burn and forest, with French windows opening onto a raised veranda area.

The kitchen area is well equipped, with cooker, fridge / freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and all necessary utensils, crockery and cutlery.

Shower room is tastefully finished and has electric shower, wash basin, toilet and shaver point.

Bedroom 1 has a double bed, built in wardrobe / clothes storage and bed side cabinet.

Bedroom 2 has bunk beds, wardrobe / clothes storage and bed side cabinet.

Sleeping loft (1.80m ceiling height) is access via a ladder & has twin beds, bed side cabinet and clothes storage.

Outside there is parking for 2 cars, an elevated veranda with garden furniture, a BBQ / fire pit area and ample grounds.

The cabin is timber lined throughout, double glazed, highly insulated, well heated and suitable for year round use. It provides a balance of luxury and comfort while maintaining the character, charm and feel of a true log cabin in a quiet forest location.

The Buzzard chalet is one of our larger 2 bedroom holiday chalets featuring a large living area with a beautiful Duresta suite to relax in whilst you sit back and enjoy the stunning Highland landscape on your doorstep with views up the famous mountain of Ben More, across the dramatic scenery of Glen Dochart over to Loch Iuibhair (pronounced'ewar').
The interior has recently been refurbished with energy saving LED ceiling lighting, all interior walls and ceilings redecorated and low energy radiators and towel rails installed throughout. The chalet also boasts a wrap around decking area to the front and side where you can enjoy the fresh air and views.
From your dedicated parking area next to your chalet you enter from the decking into a bright and airy open plan living area with large, comfortable suite, TV entertainment system with Blu Ray DVD and SKY system. Walk through the chalet and you will find an open plan fitted kitchen area with all modern appliances including a washing machine, dishwasher, fan assisted oven with ceramic hob, all crockery, pots and pans, glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils. The dining area is separated from the kitchen by a worktop island with dining table, 4 chairs and a separate seating area.
The two bedrooms both of which are ensuite comprise of sprung bed bases with 2000 spring, pocket sprung, hotel grade bed mattresses with Cashmere top and are supplied with soft Egyptian Cotton bed linen. A holiday would not be a holiday without a comfortable night's sleep and we pride ourselves on the comfort of our beds and linen. The bedrooms have a fitted wardrobe with drawers, fitted carpets, high quality curtains, a hair dryer, bedside tables with lighting. There is an ensuite bathroom with shower over bath in the master king size double bedroom. The twin bedroom boasts the same quality with an ensuite power shower room. Both of which are supplied by a pressurised hot water system. High grade towels and Arran Aromatic soap are provided.

The Portnellan Estate has been privately owned by the same family for over 40 years and offers fantastic facilities to include fresh run salmon and trout fishing on the estate lochs and river, plenty of cycling on and off road for all abilities. There are kayaks, paddle boards and rowing boats on the river and lochs and a games room offering a pool table, table tennis and table football as well as a wee gym. Clay pigeon shooting can also be arranged. Wifi is available throughout the estate as well as BBQ hire. A wee visitors centre offers you th use of a DVD library, a selection of board games as well as local produce for sale to include honey, a range of hand made candles, eggs from our ducks on the estate and organic meat products fresh from a farm locally, perfect for the BBQ or home cooking.

Portnellan Estate is the perfect base for exploring Central/West Scotland with known landmarks only a short distance away. Oban 45 min​ute​s, Stirling, Fort William and Glasgow just over 1 hour and Edinburgh a 90 min drive. Glen Coe and all it beholds is less than 40 mins drive and the bonnie shores of Loch Lomond are 20 mins by car. Other areas include the truly beautiful Glen Lyon and Loch Tay, Glen Etive, Glen Lochay and Glen Orchy all within the local area.
