Outside there is ample off road parking and a covered veranda with furniture, leading to a large lawned area and an unfenced lake just 15 yards away. The course occupies a superbly landscaped 114 acre site amidst unspoilt rolling countryside and moorland, on the edge of Hartland Forest, which is home to many roaming red deer. The dramatic National Trust coastline around Hartland and picturesque fishing villages and coves of Clovelly and Bucks Mills are less than 5 miles distant. Wide, sandy surfing beaches at Bude or Westward Ho! and the historic port, shopping and antiques centre of Bideford are also just a short, scenic drive away. There are character inns, village stores and a choice of quality restaurants nearby and guests are welcome to use the excellent private leisure facilities of Penstowe, including indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, jacuzzi, tennis, badminton and squash courts, within a scenic 10 mile drive. The picturesque and well maintained golf course has extensive water hazards, offering good sport for golfers at every skill level. Novice and young players welcome, yet the par 71 course also presents an interesting challenge to experienced, low handicap enthusiasts.
