The shepherds hut boasts 1 bedroom, sitting area and en-suite. Our hot tub is available to hire this is next to the hut hidden away and yet providing stunning views over the hills and star gazing is definitely recommend. You are welcome to bring one dog at an extra charge for a deep clean of the hut . This cosy shepherd's hut makes the perfect holiday for a couple or if you just fancy having a break on your own. Everything about this property has been well thought through to create a relaxed and luxurious feeling.
You will have access to over 2 acres of private garden, including free range chickens and a Toulouse goose. I can bring your breakfast to your hut, or you can eat in the dining room charges apply. Facilities include, kettle, cutlery, plates, glasses, cups, dressing gowns, bed linen and towels.
Our shepherds hut is a perfect place to relax and re-focus the mind and body. Your cosy space over looks Dumfries, hills, woods and lakes, they are stunning.

If you fancy some cycling, we have the 7 stanes cycling route just 20 minutes away, Mabie forest is stunning with toilets and cafe. Walking, we have numerous circular walks, both on the doorstep and further a field, with plenty of variety and a wide range of walking routes to suit all ages, aptitudes and levels of fitness, the Southern Upland Way is a stunning route, and is the only national trail in the region, that begins its 212 mile journey across Scotland on the west coast of Galloway. Others use hills, coastal, lochside and riverside paths and the many forest trails, all on our door step. Like the other west facing peninsulas of Britain - Cormwall, Wales, Cumbria - Dumfries and Galloway has a generally milder climate, some of the best times of year to visit these regions are April-June, but walking here is a joy at all times of the year. Places to look up are: Doach wood, Mull of Galloway, Water of River Ae riverside trail, Stroan and Mossdale Locks, Caerlavrock and the Solway Marshes, Wigtown famous book town, Lochmaben and the four Lochs, Fleet forest and Anworth old Kirk, Rascarrel Bay and Balcary Point, Devils Beef Tub, Loch Trool, St Ninian's Cave and Barrow Head (highly recommended), Cairnsmore of Dee, Sweetheart Abbey and Criffel ( also on the doorstep) Cairnsmore of Fleet is among the higher Galloway hills (2,331 feet). Beaches, where do I start, Colvend, Southerness, Kippford, Sandyhills coast lines are only 20 minutes away. The entire Solway coast is stunning and definately worth driving or cycling the coastal route, going through Kirkcudbright, stunning fishing and artists town, with a beautiful harbour, with many events held throughout the year. Fishing, we have Alderneuk Fishery directly opposite our shepherd's hut, so a 1 minute walk, Loch Aber Fishing club is also a 10 minute drive, with a multitude of Loch's and rivers in our area you are spoilt for choice, check in advance of your journey for licensing regulations. Not forgetting GAME shooting, Drumlanrig Castle in Thornhill, again just 20 minutes away, is stunning and offers game, partridge, Pheasant, Grouse and fishing. Dumfries, home to Robbie Burns and Peter Pan are all within easy reach of our hut, with numerous restaurants, winning bars for real ales, wine bars, Tapas bars all within a 3 mile vicinity of our hut.
At an extra cost, you may use our washer and dryer and have a private section in our freezer, storage for fishing rods, cycles, small boats are also available on request.

Dogs are welcome on the park & in the lodge (see below) & there is a lovely large dog walking field/area just 100mtrs from the lodge which leads to a small pond & picnic area.
Also on site is the Blagdon Inn a 15th century coaching house serving good food & fine wines & ales...The Blagdon also has sky tv & a pool table, as well as an outside childrens play area, all this just a five minute quiet walk from your lodge (dogs are welcome there too, inside & out). The Inn now does a takeaway service for delivery & collection.

Onto the lodge, its a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom fully fitted double width timber clad lodge finished to a luxurious standard with D/G & central heating if you are visiting out of season...
Complimentary Wi-Fi is also included in your stay & mobile signals are excellent.
Enter into a superb open plan living/kitchen area with vaulted ceilings... the large kitchen is fully fitted including a hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine & the all important wine cooler, as well as kettle, toaster & all the other small kitchen essential items that you may need to make your stay a pleasure... oh & nearly forgot we supply a small welcome pack for your arrival.
