The Barns were formally an old dairy farm with the buildings forming a perfect courtyard. Each of the barns reflects the evolution of the building over the past two hundred years, showcasing hand sawn timbers, gorgeous rafters and purlins along with many original features of the dairy. The result is phenomenal, a perfect blend of old meets new. Guests are truly pampered within chic, contemporary interiors while appreciating the raw design elements. Guests enter this property via a flight of external stairs leading to the front door, which opens into the property s open plan living space. The property s former life as a barn is very noticeable, thanks to the well maintained original features, which include the exposed beams and the high ceiling. The room is kept lovely and warm, no matter the time of year, thanks to the wood burner which sits in the corner of the room, in front of which are two comfortable sofas. There is also a TV and a dining table seating four, beyond which the kitchen area, tucked away behind the stairs, is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and washing machine. (A tumble dryer is available for guests to use in a nearby barn). Wooden stairs lead from the living area up to the mezzanine bedroom, where there is a king size bed and a wardrobe guests should be aware that there is some reduced head height there. The historic town of Tavistock is within a short walk of the barn, with an array of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Tavistock being situated on the outskirts of the Dartmoor National Park, means you are not too far from some of the most breath taking views, walks and cycle tracks Devon has to offer. Heading south you have the regional capital of Plymouth which offers an array of amenities, not to mention its wealth of day trips, the historic Hoe, the National Marine Aquarium, Theatre Royal and much more. Family attractions nearby are Pennywell Farm, Southwest Segway, Woodlands family theme park and The Dartmoor Mystery Treasure Trail. The delightful barn conversion is situated within the owner s grounds which is renowned for its beautiful scenery and set within their own trout fishery. On entering this split level barn, you are greeted by the light and airy open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The kitchen area is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, coffee machine, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, and you don t even need to do the dishes as there is a dishwasher to do the work for you.
