Nestling in the low hills of the beautiful Tyne Valley and enjoying ¼ mile of fishing on the banks of the River South Tyne, Brokenheugh Lodge and Orchard Barn afford guests a holiday of escapism on the one hand and pure indulgence on the other.
Taken as a whole or separately, both the Lodge and Barn are built, furnished and equipped to a 5 star luxury standard with the added option of ancient woodland walks, fishing and picnics, all within the privacy of our 65 acre woodland estate.
Originally built in the late 1890's by Lord Joicey, a prominent coalmine owner and later politician, both the lodge and barn have been recently extended and completely refurbished to a very high standard.

Set within a small peaceful complex of properties this semi detached property has lots of charm and is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with some of the best star gazing sites in Europe. Also close to the village of Rothbury which sits on the banks of the river Coquet. River walks, golf and cycling and walking routes are close by, making this a great location to relax and recharge the batteries. The stunning Cragside House and Gardens are a short drive away, whilst the magnificent coastline boasts sandy beaches, making it the ideal place to enjoy a picnic and build a sandcastle. Heading up the staircase to the first floor you will find the twin bedroom with en suite shower room with shower and WC and more wonderful views. Stepping outside to the front of the property, the large patio is the ideal place to enjoy al fresco dining and take in the breath taking views over the open countryside and towards the Cheviot Hills or why not have a game of boules on the lawn. Enter through the double gates, cross the gravelled forecourt to the front door which takes you into a gorgeous farmhouse kitchen/diner with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine and a beautiful Welsh dresser and pine dining table. Off the kitchen to the right you step down into a spacious lounge with a wood burner, TV, DVD and sofa bed, this cosy space is ideal for relaxing after a day exploring the wonderful countryside surrounding the barn. Also off the kitchen to the left is the sumptuous bedroom with a four poster bed, an en suite shower and WC. There is also direct access to the private hot tub area from the bedroom. Heading outside you will find an enclosed garden, decked area with garden furniture to enjoy alfresco dining or a relaxed evening stargazing.
