Seascape Retreat is a detached three-bedroom holiday home, perfectly situated on the Isle of Portland in a private pinnacle location which benefits from breath taking sea views with easy access to local shops, pubs, bars and restaurants.
The kitchen is well equipped and the dining room is perfect for gathering everyone around for a homecooked meal as there is a large table and six chairs. The living room is comfortably furnished with a couple of sofas, an armchair and a 55" Smart TV with a pre-paid Netflix account. The bathroom is also located on the ground floor and it has a shower over the bath, a toilet, washbasin and mirror. Head upstairs to the first floor where you will find two of the bedrooms and both of the rooms have a 48" Smart TV, a wardrobe and sea views. The games room is located in a separate building, a few steps up at the back of the garden. The enclosed garden is attractively landscaped with a few patio and decked areas and it has outdoor furniture, a charcoal barbeque, picnic tables with ash trays provided and a luxurious six-seater hot tub underneath a wooden gazebo. There is also a lockable shed where guests can store bicycles and surfboards. The patio at the front of the property is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the spectacular sunset over Chesil Beach.
Reached via a causeway from Weymouth, the Isle of Portland is steeped in maritime history and has plenty to see and do, with pubs, a cafe bistro, a fish and chips shop with a post office but a stone’s throw away.. Portland Harbour is home to a 16th-century coastal fort and you can explore the pirates’ graveyard, Church Ope Cove, a former smugglers hideout, or visit the Castletown D-Day Centre. Portland has several quarries to discover and a host of wildlife to observe - Peregrine Falcons can be spotted round Portland and along the cliffs, or try and spot dolphins in the waters surrounding the island. Portland also forms part of the UNESCO Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site and Chesil Beach which starts here, runs eighteen miles to West Bay. Windsurfing, diving, sea fishing, climbing and yachting are all available nearby. Portland Harbour is also famous for its sailing and water sports being home to the National Sailing Academy and was the site of the sailing events for the 2012 Olympic Games.
Other places to explore are the popular seaside town of Weymouth just 5 miles away where you can sample many of its restaurants, visit Brewer’s Quay, take a harbour cruise or even venture out for a day trip on the ferry to Guernsey. If you want to venture a little further why not visit Lulworth Cove and Abbotsbury both within 20 miles and well worth a visit.
