Town: The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.
Located in Windermere, this lodge is on a lake. Townend and Blackwell, The Arts & Crafts House are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Treetop Trek and Holehird Gardens. Raw War Paintball and Cocoa Hearts are also worth visiting.
The living areas in the property consist of an open-plan living space with kitchen equipped with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and a dishwasher, dining area with seating for six and a sitting area with Smart TV and an electric fire. The bedrooms consist of two doubles and an adult bunk, along with a shower room and a cloakroom. Outside there is a private wraparound decking area with furniture and a hot tub, as well as off-road parking for two cars. Within 1 mile you will find a shop, within 0.6 miles, a lake, and you'll find a pub on-site, and please note that one well-behaved dog is allowed but sorry, no smoking. Living - You enter Woodpecker Lodge via a covered porch in to a boot room with coat hooks and a seat to help take the weight off your feet after an active day. The living room, dining area and kitchen are perfectly sized and offer all the amenities you require for a short break or holiday in the lodge.
A comfortable corner sofa is the perfect position to enjoy the large TV, whilst underneath, the fire sets the tone for the perfect, cosy feel. The kitchen in our Woodland Lodges has all modern conveniences you may need including fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, wine cooler, dishwasher, oven and washer dryer. All kitchen utensils, crockery and glassware are provided. The family bathroom completes the downstairs with a large bath and overhead shower. Bed linen, towels, bathrobes and slippers are all provided.
Upstairs you will find a master bedroom with king-size bed and a second bedroom with twin single beds. Throughout High Oaks Grange you will find luxury Hypnos mattresses in every bedroom, the ultimate mattresses for rest and relaxation.
Entertainment - We have the whole family covered with our smart entertainment system in Woodpecker Lodge. Throughout the lodge you can stay connected to our high speed WiFi, simply pop in the password and you can connect all your devices to share your holiday snaps with family and friends, watch a movie and plan your next day's adventure.
Downstairs you will find a 40' LCD Smart TV with Google Chromecast, bringing thousands of movies, live sport* and catch up TV to your fingertips. In the Master bedroom there is a wall-mounted TV for those lazy mornings you can enjoy on holiday. Our amazing twin bedrooms are a kids (and grown ups) paradise, with each bed having its very own TV with a PS4** allowing multi player games to be played simultaneously.
Outside - Outside Woodpecker Lodge there is a large decked area with outdoor seating. The BBQ is perfect for some al fresco dining as well as a covered hot tub to relax in whatever the weather. Parking is available for one car at each lodge with further parking available onsite. Each lodge also has a bike rack for added security.
Dogs - We know how much fun it is to bring your dog on holiday with you, however we also understand dogs are not everyone's cup of tea so we have both dog friendly and dog free lodges available. Woodpecker Lodge is dog free.

Woodstock Lodge is a wonderful all-ground-floor barn conversion resting in Mainsforth near Ferryhill, Durham. There are four bedrooms in the cottage, made up of a double with an en-suite bathroom, two further doubles and a twin, served by cloakroom and a family bathroom, together sleeping eight guests. There is also a kitchen with dining seating, a utility, living/dining room and a games room. Woodys Lodge is a 3 bedroom deluxe property located on the beautiful tranquil Felmoor Holiday Park just outside of Morpeth, Northumberland. Fantastic place to relax, unwind and recharge those batteries. It's also a great central place to explore the fabulous Northumberland attractions.
This property is pet friendly, we allow up to 2 dogs and you can bring them free of charge. If you have more than 2 dogs then please do get in touch - we may make exceptions given the type of breed and how well behaved they are :)
The fully equipped lodge is situated in a quiet cul de sac of the park affording guests with privacy. The spacious terrace has ample seating and dining arrangements so guests can entertain. The deluxe hot tub is sunken into the terrace at the rear of the lodge.
The lodge consists of vaulted ceilings, modern fixtures and fittings throughout and tastefully decorated. The open plan fully equipped kitchen over looks the living and dining area, meaning the chef can still interact with their guests as they prepare dinner.
The master bedroom has a walk in wardrobe and en-suite shower. The double bedroom has built in wardrobes and a dressing table whilst the twin bedroom contains two single beds and a wardrobe. All three bedrooms have their own flat screen TV's and the owners provide the bed linen.
The family bathroom is equipped with toilet, large shower enclosure, wash basin and heated towel rail.
The owners provide Sky TV, outdoor and indoor games for the children (and adults). A welcome pack is prepared for each guests arrival.
This property can accommodate 6 comfortably or 8 as we do have a sofa bed but additional bed linen charges may apply.
For larger groups there are two adjacent properties that can sleep 6 respectively, they each come with their own private hot tub.
Our lodges are available to rent throughout the year.
Check in day is either a Monday or Friday, though at times, particularly during off peak season we can be more flexible.
