Willows has 2 parking spaces at the top of its driveway with a turning space. The site has slopes and steps and may not be suitable for the disabled. The closest sandy beaches can be found less than half an hour away at Bournemouth and on the gorgeous Sandbanks peninsular, here you can catch the chain ferry to the Victorian seaside town of Swanage, where there is plenty to see, do and explore. Poole Harbour is just 30-minutes away, from here catch a ferry to Brownsea Island with its impressive views and wonderful wildlife, including red squirrels and a variety of birdlife, it makes a relaxing day out that the whole family will enjoy.

For those looking to enjoy the great outdoors, Moors Valley Country Park is just twenty-minutes away and offers cycle paths, a steam railway and an entire forest to explore. Wisteria Cottage can comfortably accommodate up to six adults and two additional children across its four well-appointed bedrooms.

On the ground floor is the warm and welcoming living space which comprises of an open-plan kitchen and dining area, a cosy lounge with wood-burning stove as well as the first of the bedrooms, a super-king double room, which can be set up with twin beds on request, and an en-suite wet room. Upstairs on the first floor are a further two bedrooms, the first, a super-king four-poster room and en-suite bathroom with freestanding nickel bath and walk-in shower. The second, a superking double room with en-suite shower room, provides access to the fourth and final bedroom, a twin room, together these rooms are ideally suited to a family with young children. 

Outside, the children will love running around and playing games on the lawn. The sunken patio area  which comes complete with dining facilities and a charcoal barbecue makes the perfect spot to dine al fresco on a sunny evening!

Wisteria Cottage is located on a private road, with only one other manor house sharing access. The road is a bridleway and footpath and leads to a large area of parkland, leading onto a variety of other walking and cycling routes – perfect for families who want to enjoy the great outdoors!

There are a selection of excellent pubs in the vicinity, such as the Dinnington Docks, Lord Poulett Arms, or Five Dials. We also recommend the micro-brewery at Stocklinch – Stocklinch Ales – which is open for visitors on Friday evenings after 7pm and Sunday lunchtimes.

Barrington House, a National Trust house with gardens open to the public, is nearby, as is Dillington House. The Dennis Chinaworks in Shepton Beauchamp are also very close and worth a visit, for the tea rooms as much as anything else.

There are several local cider producers whose orchards and presses are worth seeing, Perry’s Cider in Dowlish Wake being one, and Julian Temperley’s cider and cider brandy distillery over at Burrow Hill another.

A little further away the beach at Lyme Regis and walks along the Jurassic coastline are 40mins or so to the South, and the Hauser and Wirth gallery near Bruton is 40 mins or so to the East.

The living room is the perfect spot to curl up in one of the comfy arm chairs with a good book while enjoying lookng out over the tranquil surroundings and river. The lovely dining room, bright and light due to the beautiful skylight it makes a lovely room for the family to gather together and enjoy a nice meal.

On the first floor two bedrooms can be found. Guests are bound to be arguing over who gets to stay in the wonderful master en-suite bedroom, complete with king-sized bed. Fabulous views of the Estuary and horizon can be enjoyed from the many windows and french doors and even from the comfort of the luxurious bathtub! The second en-suite double bedroom on this level boasts equally impressive views. 

Three bedrooms are situated in the upper floor. Two of the double bedrooms are larger in size with access to private washrooms. The smaller of the double bedrooms has nautical themed porthole windows and an en-suite bathroom. Heading back downstairs to the basement, you will find the snug area, perfect for a cosy movie night. On this floor, a further en-suite double bedroom can also be found. Adjoined to this bedroom is a small living space, with a working fireplace, with further access to the garden.

The town of Portishead is just off the coast of the Severn Estuary, Somerset. Due to its proximity and its tributary, Portishead has a rich history as a port and docking yard. There are still exquisite examples of Town’s fine history of Victorian Gothic architecture and plenty of popular trails for keen hikers to explore.
