Having recently undergone a refurbishment in an 'Alpine' theme with subtle Highland touches Gamekeeper has been designed to put you in touch with being in a timber chalet within the great outdoors. Comprising of 3 bedrooms the configuration is a king sized double and 2 twin bedrooms all fully carpeted with light pine wall covering rising behind the beds and handmade fitted wardrobes and vanity area complete with internal sensor lighting. A holiday would not be a holiday without a good nights sleep and this has not been over looked. All beds are hotel grade, 2000 spring pocket sprung with Cashmere top covered with sumptuous duvets and pillows all covered in Egyptian Cotton bed linen.

The bathroom is fully tiled in Rainforest White with a deep composite Carron bath with overhead shower. All fittings are the premium brand Hans Grohe.

A fully fitted Pasedena pine styled kitchen with aluminium carcass lining and all Bosch modern appliances including built in mid height double oven and microwave, a ceramic hob and oven, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and larder fridge/freezer. Furthermore, a day in the great outdoors can lead to clothing and footwear needing dried so leading from the kitchen is a heated boot and coat cupboard.

The living layout is fully open plan with light pine wood effect flooring and a deep L shaped living room suite with arm chair. A wall mounted LCD TV with freeview SKY and Blu Ray DVD.

Not that you will need a television to watch as you can gaze through the sliding patio door and your breath will be taken away by the stunning views all around you. There is even an onsite visitor centre with a small essentials shop, fresh organic meat from a farm locally for sale (perfect for a BBQ or home cooking), Lucy's ready made meals (should you not wish to cook of an evening), local information, a varied selection of board games and DVDs.

Situated in the heart of the central Highlands of Scotland with spectacular loch, glen and mountain views all around Gamekeeper's setting is magnificent where a true highland landscape awaits you and it is often complimented on the abundance of bird and wild life that can be regularly seen. It is not unusual to see the deer meandering off the hill and passing nearby the property.

The Portnellan Estate has been privately owned by the same family for over 40 years and offers fantastic facilities to include fresh run salmon and trout fishing on the estate lochs and river, plenty of cycling on and off road for all abilities. There are kayaks, paddle boards and rowing boats on the river and lochs and a games room offering a pool table, table tennis and table football as well as a wee gym. Clay pigeon shooting can also be arranged. Wifi is available throughout the estate as well as BBQ hire. A wee visitors centre offers you th use of a DVD library, a selection of board games as well as local produce for sale to include honey, a range of hand made candles, eggs from our ducks on the estate and organic meat products fresh from a farm locally, perfect for the BBQ or home cooking.

Portnellan Estate is the perfect base for exploring Central/West Scotland with known landmarks only a short distance away. Oban 45 minutes, Stirling, Fort William and Glasgow just over 1 hour and Edinburgh a 90 min drive. Glen Coe and all it beholds is less than 40 mins drive and the bonnie shores of Loch Lomond are 20 mins by car. Other areas include the truly beautiful Glen Lyon and Loch Tay, Glen Etive, Glen Lochay and Glen Orchy all within the local area.

Our lodges are constructed from 8" pine logs and are exceptionally warm and welcoming. We offer clean, comfortable accommodation that has views which are absolutely fantastic - right across miles of beautiful Devon countryside to Dartmoor in the distance. South facing with undercover patio. Parking on your own driveway alongside your lodge and garden area for your picnics or for the children to play in. Our lodges are fully furnished for up to four people, and are centrally placed for both the north and south coasts of Devon, and for the North Cornwall Coast - Widemouth Bay and Bude being particular favourites.

The recently updated kitchen has a fridge, freezer, electric oven with ceramic hob and a microwave and in the lounge there's a large smart TV and recently upgraded superfast Wi-Fi throughout. There is a recently renovated shower room with electric shower and the water is mains, so no problem with pressure! There are heaters in all rooms and a log/coal burner in the living area.

Highampton is a small village situated in Ruby country with it’s fantastic selection of trails for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The village of Hatherleigh is about 4 miles away and has a good selection of cafes and shops. There’s also pubs, supermarket and a new skatepark. The bustling town of Okehampton is a further 7 miles away. In the opposite direction about 7 miles away lies the pretty market town of Holsworthy with the beautiful beaches of Bude a further 9 miles away.

We are centrally places for all parts of Devon and Cornwall. The area is one of peace and tranquillity, so if it's a quiet base you want for your holiday, then Dartmoor View Lodges is the place to be.

Highampton is a small village with a pub, village hall, school and visiting post-office.

Hatherleigh and Holsworthy are larger and have all the amenities you need. Our site is quiet and tranquil and wildlife is plentiful. In the early morning it is quite possible that you will see deer grazing and there are usually a lot of rabbits around and foxes pay the occasional visit. Birds thrive and we regularly see woodpeckers, tree creepers and buzzards even occasionally a kingfisher. Butterflies are also attracted by the many wild flowers that emerge in the spring. Bats feeding at dusk are a common sight and we enjoy black skies due to very little light pollution - great for stargazing.

Located in Beaworthy, this cabin is in a rural area. Barometer World and The Plough Arts Centre are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Dragon Archery Centre and Survival Paintball. Traveling with kids? Consider Survival Laser Games and The Gnome Reserve and Wildflower Garden. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

There are also books, magazines and games for your use. Another nice feature is that the lounge is separate from the kitchen, making it a very cosy room.

The fully fitted kitchen contains a gas oven below a 5-burner gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer and American style fridge/freezer. There is also a dining area with free-standing table and chairs.

The main bedroom has a lovely romantic feel with luxury Dorma Duck Egg Maiya bedding, making it a lovely room in which to relax and enjoy a restful sleep. The bedroom also benefits from a flat screen TV, good wardrobe storage with inset drawers and a dressing table, hair dryer is supplied. The en-suite has a bath with shower over.

The twin bedroom has two free-standing beds made up with quality Dunelm bedding. There is also a wardrobe, storage areas and a dressing table. Opposite this room is the main bathroom with a large walk-in shower cubicle.

Sheric Lodge has central heating and double glazing.

There are 2 private parking spaces and a decked area along one side and front of the Lodge, complete with table, chairs and BBQ.

The Buzzard chalet is one of our larger 2 bedroom holiday chalets featuring a large living area with a beautiful Duresta suite to relax in whilst you sit back and enjoy the stunning Highland landscape on your doorstep with views up the famous mountain of Ben More, across the dramatic scenery of Glen Dochart over to Loch Iuibhair (pronounced'ewar').

Based at the popular Hoburne Cotswold Holiday park with its varied family facilities: indoor and outdoor swimming pools, play areas, tennis, crazy golf, archery, pedalos and fishing, restaurant, bar, shop, daily events and entertainment.

Bluebell Lodge enjoys the use of all park activities and amenities one guest have bought temporary membership passes (we welcome a chat about this before your booking if it helps. See later on for more details).

Temporary membership (currently £50 in total for the week for up to 6 guests) entitles guests to use the Hoburne Club. Passes give access to the cafe and bars as well as all activities including heated indoor activity pool and heated outdoor swimming, tennis and multiplayer sport court (bring your own equipment to avoid further hire charges). Most children's entertainment with Sammy Squad and evening entertainment for adults are free activities. (Pass monies are paid directly to the hosts at least 4 days before your stay as only hosts can purchase passes- to reassure there is 0% charge for this!).

As a host we will send you forms and documentation to make your stay enjoyable. Please return the H&S form (which also includes the request and payment details for passes) one week before your stay if possible.

For larger parties we also own Lavender Lodge immediately next door to Bluebell Lodge. To avoid disappointment then contact the host to check availability or book both VERY early.

House Rules:
- Check-in time is 2pm onwards and check-out is 10am. Sometimes we can accommodate an earlier arrival so do enquire with the host.
- BBQs are not provided yet are allowed in the garden to the left and front of Bluebell Lodge - they are not allowed on the decking as this poses a major fire risk
- Smoking is not allowed inside.
- Up to 2 well behaved pets are allowed at a cost of £3 a night each. Pets must not go on the furniture
