Oh we do like to be beside the seaside!! Chalet Ho! is a modern, light and airy 2 bedroom property, sleeping up to 4 guests, with glorious sea views, a sunny deck and plenty of communal garden space. Chalet Ho! is located at Golden Bay Holiday Park, Westward Ho! - a small, peaceful holiday park, on The South West Coast Path and just a 5 minute stroll along the promenade from the main buzz of Westward Ho!
As you enter Chalet Ho! you will find a spacious lounge featuring a wall of windows offering stunning views of the amazing beach at Westward Ho! and the large communal garden area. The lounge has a large, comfortable sofa, from which to relax and enjoy the view, a dining table with 4 chairs, a Smart TV and a coat/shoe rack.
There is a fully-fitted kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave and kettle with crockery, cutlery, glassware and utensils.
Off the lounge is the bathroom, featuring a large walk-in shower, WC, wash-basin and storage cupboard.
There are 2 bedrooms - the master offers a super-king size bed and 2 bedside cupboards and lamps. The bed can be split into 2 standard single beds (3ft x 6ft 3in). The 2nd bedroom offers 2 slim-single beds (2ft 6in x 6ft 3in) which can be zipped together to form a king size bed and 2 bedside cupboards with lamps.
Outside Chalet Ho! you will find a spacious deck with 2 armchairs and a sofa and coffee table, from which you can soak up the sun and take in the view.
Chalet Ho! is less than a minute's walk to the promenade/sea front, where you will find yourself on the South West Coast Path (more on that later) and close to the Sea Pool - an open air, saltwater pool, built amongst the rocks.
Westward Ho! itself was created as a holiday resort in 1856. The main draw to The Ho! was the same then as it is now... the Atlantic Ocean. The Victorians used to travel miles, taking days just to dip in the waters at Westward Ho! - it was reported to have many health benefits. What better way than in an open water rock sea pool? So they created one. The sea pool was refurbished in 2015 and can be enjoyed year-round for free!
Golden Bay Holiday Park is a small, peaceful park, consisting of mostly privately-owned chalets. The chalets share large lawned areas and there is a small play area for young children. There is a reception building with tourist information leaflets and a launderette up by the entrance and car park. There is parking for one car for guests of Chalet Ho! in the car park and additional spaces on Merley Road or Sandy Lane (both free). It is a short walk to the chalet.
There is so much to see and do in Westward Ho! itself and beyond. For those who love walking, Chalet Ho! is moments away from The South West Coast Path. It is an 11 mile challenging, hilly walk to the beautiful harbour-village of Clovelly with its famous steep pedestrian-only cobbled street. In the opposite direction, it is an 8 mile walk to Instow via Bideford.
For water sports enthusiasts, there are several surf shops in the Ho! offering surfing, windsurfing, kite-surfing and SUP lessons.
For those with children, Westward Ho! is the perfect bucket-and-spade holiday destination. The beach is vast! When the tide is out (and it goes OUT!) the sand stretches for ages and the most amazing rock formations are revealed - offering the best rock-pooling ever! There are 2 main arcades with plenty of childrens games and a go-kart track and crazy golf. Further afield, The Milky Way is a 15 minute drive - a small theme park perfect for kids up to 10 years old with indoor and outdoor activities.
Please note that, sadly, pets are not allowed on the park.
Located in Bideford, this chalet is near theme parks and near the beach. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Northam Burrows Country Park and North Devon Coast, while The Burton Art Gallery and Museum and The Plough Arts Centre are cultural highlights. Traveling with kids? Consider The Big Sheep and Clovelly Village. Discover the area's water adventures with jet skiing and kayaking nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with cycling and hiking.
